Fineline recreate world war 2 bomb

Last month fineline were asked to recreate a World War 2 German bomb for Liverpool Museums. Data was provided from a digital scan of an actual bomb recovered from a building site in London.

The high resolution scan picked out the smallest details which included dents, rivets, joins and graphics. To pick out these small details we used a fine finish step over of 0.6mm using a 6mm round end cutter.

The finished model stood over 4 feet tall and was cut from a medium density polyurethane board with slot in fins cut from Valchromat, a high density sheet material.
